How it works
To mandate Chèque service to handle the salary declarations to social insurance and the administrative follow-up, nothing could be simpler!
Talk to your employer 1/4
Value your job
The domestic economy is an essential pillar of everyday life: by having your work declared by your employer, you value your skills, respect your status as a worker and contribute to essential professional recognition.
Explain the importance of being covered by social security
Social security is your daily protection that accompanies you when facing life's unexpected events: illness, accidents, job loss, children and old age. It protects both the employee and the employer who is responsible for it.
Remember that it is a legal obligation
Declaring their employee to the social security is a legal obligation for any employer, regardless of the worker's status (work permit holder or not). However, being declared through Chèque service does not regularise your situation and work permits must be obtained through separate, independent procedures.
Support your employer 2/4
Chèque service is designed to simplify administrative procedures for employers in the domestic economy sector. Registration for our service is the responsibility of the employer, who delegates to us the administration of all their social security obligations.
Your employer will need:
- Our registration form
- Your complete contact details
- A copy of your AVS or health insurance card
- Failing that, a copy of your valid identity document
- Your work permit (if applicable)
If you do not have an AVS card, Chèque service will arrange to order one for you.
Review, sign and request a copy of the registration form
Please carefully check your personal and salary information to ensure it is correct. Then sign the form to confirm your agreement.
Ask your employer for a copy of the signed registration form and all supporting documents (contract, AVS card or identity document) that you will keep for your personal records.
Establish an employment contract
The registration form is a document intended for Chèque service. However, it does not constitute an employment contract even though it includes all the minimum required data.
Draw up a written employment contract with your employer to clarify the specifics of your working relationship. A template is provided by Chèque service here.
If you do not yet receive family allowances, you can apply for them directly on the registration form.
Discuss with your employer to decide together whether you are paid during your holidays or if you receive compensation included in each hour worked.
If you live in France and carry out an income-generating activity there for more than 25% of your time, you must be registered with the French, not the Swiss social security authorities.
Update your record 3/4
If your personal information changes (address, phone number, work permit, etc.), quickly inform your employer and Chèque service so that it can be updated in the declaration system.
The same applies to your working conditions. Ask your employer for regular updates of these, as they determine your social benefits in case of accident or illness for example.
Activate your online account 4/4
Once registered, you will be able to access your personal account to update your information, view your payslips, your employment contracts and your annual salary certificate.
